Scriptures: Psalm 73, 34:19, Proverbs 16:4, James 1:12, Romans 8:18, 2 Corinthians 4:17

Perhaps the most common question we ask of God is, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" It's an ancient question, and among those who raised it was a man named Asaph who lived thousands of years ago. His account is found in Psalm 73. Asaph observed that wicked people often lived in prosperity and luxury while the righteous suffered adversity in his day. Why? In all of scripture God never explains why He allows evil and suffering. He does explain how He uses it, but He never explains why He allows it. We can even live with the fact that good things happen to bad people, but what eats at us is when bad things happen to good people. In this message, Dr. Merritt help us discover that God uses everything in life, including evil, for our good and His glory.

"Our knowledge is imperfect and limited. God has unlimited and perfect knowledge. Because God knows everything and we don’t, we have to trust that God also, therefore, knows how to use evil in such a way that it comes out for our good and for His glory." --Dr. Merritt
