Who is God to you? This is a question everyone needs to consider carefully. If God to you is just an urge or a feeling, a concept or an idea or a thought, a storybook character or an idol for religious fanatics—well, then what comes next won’t sound very important. But, if God is real, and if He is Who He says He is, and has done the things He says He did in His Word, then we must take this God is very, very seriously. One of the great challenges of the time we live in is that our culture has lost almost entirely its understanding of God. And when we don’t know Who God is, we don’t know Him, we don’t obey Him and we do not see Him in a position of authority or control. We grow to rely on and trust other things, from ourselves to our families to our friends to the government to maybe even not trusting anyone or anything at all. So many of the issues we face as a country, as a culture, as families and when it comes right down to it, as you and me individually, is wrapped up in that most important question: Who is God to you? In this message, Dr. Merritt describes a portrait of God painted through Psalm 84:11, a God of grace and of glory.

"God’s word is God’s guiding light. If you will read that word, believe that word, obey that word, you will have enough light to penetrate any darkness. Not only does God guide us, God guards us. He is not only a sun, He is a shield. He protects us, He puts his hand over us, He puts angels beside us, He puts his Holy Spirit within us." --Dr. Merritt
