Most people in the United States revere the Bible. The problem is that most don't read or study it. And because we don't, our nation is largely illiterate when it comes to God's Word. Yet for a life that is in balance, where we are refreshed and renewed daily, and understand our purpose and mission, the Bible is the central tool we can use each and every day. In this message, Pastor Merritt challenges us to develop a heart and hunger for God's Word, which will lead us toward a life of not only greater knowledge, but a greater and closer relationship with God Himself.

"When you do read the Bible, God not only tells you what to do, but when you do what God tells you to do in the Bible, then you won't be doing what He doesn't want you to do. When you are doing what He wants you to do and not doing what He doesn't want you to do, you have a heart that will receive God's word. The reason why we find it so hard to cultivate an appetite for God's word is because we live on spiritual junk food. In fact, we are living in a spiritual junk food culture. The reason why we don't have an appetite for God's word is because we've satisfied our hunger with many other things, for example, we will feed our souls with the mindless programming on television that basically mocks everything we believe." --Dr. Merritt
