Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 29:1-20, Psalm 24:1

King David in the Old Testament tells us the one and only way to think about and consider money from God's perspective. David was arguably the greatest leader in all of history and certainly the richest man who ever lived. As he neared the end of his reign, he passed along his wealth to his son, Solomon, who was to build a great temple for God. In doing this he shares a number of principles that make it easy to understand how David stewarded his wealth.

"We generally get jealous of two things: positions and possessions. We get jealous of people because of their status in life, the position they hold or we get jealous of people who have more than we do. God is the giver of both positions and possessions. God has placed everyone where they are and God has given everyone what they have. That is why, no matter how high you go or how much you get you should never, ever get arrogant or prideful about it." --Dr. Merritt
