Contrary to popular Christian belief, sex is not a bad word. Like so many of the amazing things that God created for His children, sex is another in a long line of gifts that have been twisted and perverted into something much different that what God originally intended. And, as has been the habit of the church for centuries, everything that we consider "evil is lumped together and pushed aside, leaving us completely deprived of something God intended for us to have and enjoy to the fullest.
The challenge is not to go from one ditch into the other. God never intended for us to ignore our conscience and fulfill every sexual craving. He also didn't intend for us to pretend that sex doesn't exist. It's difficult to know the right thing to do especially when the Body of Christ has such varying beliefs.
