When I Am Tempted

"We are told that Jesus had just completed forty days of fasting and like any human being, he would be absolutely ravished. There is no doubt about it; He was ready for a chili-steak, a chili-dog, onion rings, a fried pie and a frosted orange. At his feet were small, smooth stones, perhaps chips of limestone and Satan tempts Jesus to do something he could have done and that is simply fulfill that physical desire in his own way, taking matters into his own hands and, if you will, doing his thing. Jesus knew the power that He had. His hands were just like ovens. He could have become an instead bakery and turned those stones into bread and eaten to his heart's desire.

"Remember why He was fasting in the first place. It was because He had been lead by the Spirit of God to fast and He was simply obeying the will of His Father.

"One of the greatest ways that young people are tempted today is physically. For example, the Bible is very, very plain that we are to abstain from sexual relations before marriage and after marriage we are to limit all sexual activity to the person that we are married to. Yet, as we know, co-habitation, living together out of wedlock, and casual sex is at an all-time high in this country. I am convinced one of the devil's favorite lines is "If it feels good, do it!"

"This is exactly the temptation that Satan gave to Jesus and that is - separate the physical from the spiritual. It doesn't matter what God wants, what matter is what you want."
