Decisions, Decisions
"Just as there are decisions that impact your life on earth, what about the decisions that impact your life in eternity? We all have to face those decisions, because there is a 100% mortality rate in America. That is, 1 out of 1 people die. The question is not- if you are going to die, the question is - when you are going to die? The next question is - where are you going to spend eternity?
"Now that is not really a concern for the vast majority of people in America. According to researcher George Barna, when Americans were asked this question - "When you die, you will not go to heaven?" Only 2 out of 100 agreed.
In other words, 98% of Americans believe that when they die, they are going to heaven.
"It reminds me of the story of a man that was talking to his five year old son and he said, "Son, are you sure that when you die you will go to heaven?" The little boy said, "Yes, daddy I'm sure." He then said, "Well, son if you were to die tonight and God said to you, 'Why should I let you into my heaven?' What would you answer?" The little boy didn't even hesitate. He said, "Because I'm dead." Now we laugh at that, but that really is what most people think - that all I have to do to go to heaven is just die. Jesus Christ made one of the most politically incorrect statements in the history of this world when he said,
"You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. But the gate to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it." (Matthew 7:13-14, NLT)
